Over 100 Kittens in Fur-ever Homes
In good news, the Mother of Kittens self-EMDR post was organically discovered by kitten lovers in Ukraine.
We are now running a small geographically targeted ad of that exact content to hopefully help contribute in a small way to their mental health care and honor their great courage.
We will gratefully accept tax deductible donations (we are now an official 501c3) specifically to keep the ad running at our PayPal email@example.com
Let me add - I'm also fine paying to send people in Ukraine pictures of kittens and Alan Alda if that's what they want all day long. I'm up for it. ❤️😃 ... See MoreSee Less

"Hai! Iz Alda. In awnor of mah name, meowmy gonna lay nawledge on uz."
Veterinarians have one of the highest suicide rates of all professions, second to cops.
Do you know who has a lot of trauma and resulting PTSD to deal with? The rescue and vet community. We NEED tools to save lives, not just cute pics.
My first crush was Hawkeye Pierce/Alan Alda in M*A*S*H. Go look it up, heathen young!! 🙂 I’m a big believer in meatball surgery when nothing else is available, which fits perfectly a lot of the time with rescue work and unfortunately mental health care as well.
So I’m going to share how to do meatball surgery EMDR with you. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is the gold standard trauma therapy and it is hard as the dickens to find anyone who can do it.
But here’s the secret: You can EMDR yourself. The concept is easy. It's crosswiring the brain while recalling the bad thing. And you can rewrite it. You can do it meatball surgery M*A*S*H style with YouTube.
Here is the link to a good EMDR pace.
Don't wait on anyone. All you have to do is follow the Cylon eyeball (Original Cylons, kids!! Look it up!!) as it goes back and forth while you think through the storyline of your trouble. Tap your right/left hands either in sync or opposing, same with feet if you feel jazzy.
Then keep telling yourself the story until it loses its charge. You can rewrite it if that helps. Or extinguish it. Anything you need. But shake up the wiring while you do it.
That's it. It's as scary as your mind is, which can be plenty scary. The pros from Dover make it hard for job security and to write PhDs.
Is it as good as working with a pro? Absolutely not. Will therapists hunt me down for sharing this? Go right ahead. You yell at me, and I’ll yell at you guys about your profession. 🙂 ... See MoreSee Less
Week 1 back fostering & clear fan favorite is Tristan! ❤️
He also triggers my CPTSD so he's been very handy to have around. His crying stresses me of course, plus reminds me of the hard kitten cases and losses and acts as exposure therapy.
Since he's loud but super healthy, he will help me work up to more challenging kittens much faster. ... See MoreSee Less
Now this is useful. This is the real deal, not what you see on TV.
